In my opinion, governments should give higher priority to addressing problems on Earth such as poverty, healthcare, and education. These issues have a direct impact on people's daily lives and well-being, so they should be solved first. However, I don't think space exploration should be ignored completely. It has led to many scientific and technological advancements that benefit society. The government should maintain a balance, but if resources are limited, meeting people's needs should always come before investing heavily in space exploration.

Task Response

The answer stays on topic and addresses the question directly, providing a clear opinion that prioritizes terrestrial issues while acknowledging the value of space exploration. It is well-structured, natural, and avoids personal anecdotes, maintaining a general perspective. To reach a band 9, the response could be further developed by exploring the nuances of the balance between the two priorities, such as discussing potential long-term benefits of space exploration that indirectly address terrestrial issues, or providing more specific examples of how funding could be allocated effectively.

Fluency & Coherence

The answer is well-organized and coherent, with a clear opinion and balanced view. However, there is a slight lack of fluency due to a missing comma after 'opinion' and a minor repetition ('and' before 'education'). To improve, use more cohesive devices like 'firstly', 'moreover', or 'on the other hand' to enhance flow.

Lexical Resource

Good use of vocabulary such as 'priority', 'direct impact', 'well-being', 'scientific and technological advancements', and 'maintain a balance'. However, the phrase 'meeting people' is slightly vague; consider 'meeting people's basic needs' for precision. Overall, vocabulary is appropriate but could be more varied.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

Grammar is mostly accurate with correct use of tenses and structures. There is a minor error: 'advancement' should be plural 'advancements' (as in refined answer). Also, 'meeting people should always come' is a bit awkward; 'meeting people's needs' is clearer. Otherwise, good range of structures.

From my perspective, space exploration shouldn’t be prioritizing cloning other planets over solving Earth’s environmental problems. Honestly, I don’t know much about this, but I guess the increase of remote work changed how people perceive work-life balance as living their private life and work-life doesn’t have any difference in them because they feel like at home and feel like at work at the same time and I think it’s one of […]
