I’d like to talk about a countryside house I often visit and truly admire, the home of my close neighbor, who I respectfully call Boulogne Ikeb. His house is located on the outskirts of our town, almost at the age where the countryside begins. It’s surrounded by nature, there are open fields, a small river nearby, and fresh air that immediately makes you feel relaxed. The first time I visited his house, I felt as if I had entered a peaceful retreat far from the noise and stress of daily life. What makes his house so special to me is its simplicity and warmth. It’s not a fancy building with expensive furniture or high-touch feathers, but it has a calm soulful energy. The house is painted in soft earth tones and has a wide veranda where we often sit after evening prayers and talk about life, goals and faith. There are trees all around and in spring and summer you can hear birds singing early in the morning. It’s honestly one of the most peaceful places I’ve ever been to. I visited his house quite frequently, especially in the evenings or on weekends. Sometimes we have tea together, sometimes we work on personal projects, and sometimes we just sit in silence, enjoy the fresh countryside air. This place means a lot to me, not only because of its beauty, but also because of the person who lives there. Balolakya has taught me a lot of simplicity, kindness and purpose. I feel spiritually and mentally charged, recharged every time I spend the time at his home. In short, his house calm, modest and located in the heart of nature is a place I truly enjoy and I believe it’s one of the best examples of how a home doesn’t need to be luxurious to be meaningful.
