Social media has a powerful influence on how people perceive reality. And this influence extends to varying degrees depending on factors such as age, medium, literacy, cultural context, and the usage of it. For my case, I can say they have considered the following, the shaping of the world, views, influencing the self-perception distortion facts versus reality, creating shared realities and also the degree of influence. When it comes to this degree of influence, you can say for heavy users who really rely on primary or social media for news and entertainment connection, the influence is profound. For those who balance media with diverse sources of information, personal experience is less distorted. When it comes to distortion facts and reality, I can say information and fake news spread quickly on social media, often faster than verified information. Vital content tends to simply or exaggerate complex issues creating distorted pictures of the real world. Also, you should be able to talk in terms of the influencing self-persuasion, platform like Instagram, TikTok, emphasis, keyword lifestyle, beauty standards and so on and so forth.
