Band 7+: What is your favorite food to cook at home?

Your pronunciation is quite good. Working on consistency and tackling difficult sounds may enhance clarity.

The answer directly addresses the question, showing a clear stance on cooking at home and providing a specific favorite dish. The response is natural and includes elaboration on the context and reasons for cooking, which adds depth. To improve, consider mentioning the specific dish you enjoy making for yourself, as the question asks for 'your favorite dish to make,' not just for others. Additionally, a more concise structure could enhance clarity.

The answer is generally coherent and well-organized, with a clear structure: stating a general dislike, then a condition for cooking, and finally specific examples. There is some repetition ('in a good mood' twice) and a slight hesitation ('Actually'), but overall it flows naturally. To improve, reduce redundancy and use more varied linking words (e.g., 'although', 'whenever' is fine, but could be 'provided that').

The vocabulary is adequate but not highly precise or flexible. Phrases like 'so much keen on' are slightly awkward (should be 'very keen on' or 'so keen on'). 'Lovely meals' is a bit vague; 'favorite meals' is better. 'Emotionally in a good mood' is redundant. To improve, use more specific and natural collocations (e.g., 'I'm not a big fan of cooking', 'I enjoy preparing homemade meals') and avoid repetition.

Grammar is mostly accurate with a good range of structures: complex sentences ('when I am in a good mood...'), conditionals ('whenever I am...'), and relative clauses ('which are pizza...'). There is one minor error: 'I wouldn't say I am so much keen on' should be 'I wouldn't say I am very keen on' or 'I am not so keen on'. The refined version corrects this. To reach a higher band, use more varied tenses (e.g., present perfect) and avoid minor inaccuracies.
