Common rules in Thai schools include wearing uniforms, having specific hairstyles, and participating in military training. For example, girls often have to cut their hair short, and some schools require students to participate in military drills, which necessitates adjusting the school schedule accordingly. I think having uniforms is beneficial because it helps identify students who are not in school, like if they are seen at the mall. However, I don't think the hair length rule is very reasonable. I don't believe having long or short hair affects a student's behavior or academic performance. Regarding consequences for breaking rules, I think it's important to address the issue with the student and understand the reason behind their actions. A discussion with the student and their parents, along with potential consequences like detention or community service, can help them learn from their mistakes and encourage better behavior in the future.
Actual audio transcript (What native speakers are likely to hear):

Um, the kind of rules that are quite common for, ah, Thai school are students have to wear uniform or students have to have their hair cut disch short for girls or some schools they have to, uh, support for military, uh, practice. So they need to arrange, uh, the schedule to, um, to fit that, to suit that. Um, so for, uh, schools to have uniforms, I think it’s kind of good because, uh, we know then we can know if students are not at school and walking in the mall, then we know what school do they belong? Or I know that they’re supposed to go to school or they have to have their haircut. That is not that reasonable a bit because, uh, I just don’t think having the hair long or having the hair short doesn’t make any difference with their behavior or with their, uh, learning progress.
