In my personal opinion, there is no way to truly end and prevent the spread of fake news or misinformation. So the involvement of governments to try to, in a way, sort it out or delete those such posts from these various social media platforms isn’t really as effective because it really has many disadvantages and many negative sides, especially in the eyes of the community. Being controlled by the government kind of promotes the idea that the government can look over what we’re doing and have a and watch what we’re doing and this sense of being constantly watched over and supervised really puts the community in harm, it causes actions that shouldn’t be done and reactions that are really harmful for the rest of the community. So I feel like government should not be able to regulate these to combat misinformation because the spread of this misinformation would still be as effective even though some are being taken down because there are a multitude, a wide wide array of social media platforms. So trying to stop it on as few wouldn’t make as much as an impact as people think.
