I think there are two types of school awards that are very common in my country. Firstly, the academic one, which is a prize or award related to academics, such as the best student or Olympiad and student competitions. Basically, students have to compete against each other in terms of academics, in biology, physics, mathematics, and so on. The second type is an award in physical sports, which means you have to be the best. We have to excel in specific fields of sport, for example, in soccer, basketball, and also ballet, dance, and something like that. So this award, I think, is very common to create more motivation to achieve what they want.
