From my perspective, the main reason why some people are highly likely to travel in their own country rather than abroad is budget. Most people lack the budget, which is why they prefer staying in their country. The second reason I can mention is language. They don't know foreign languages and think that without knowing a foreign language, they cannot go and speak to other people. That's why they prefer staying in their own country and just traveling.
