The table and chart give information about how much time men and women in Britain spend on leisure and household activities every day. The table shows three types of leisure, and the bar chart shows time for housework.
Overall, men spend more time relaxing, while women spend more time doing housework. Watching TV is the most common leisure activity, and cooking takes the most time among house jobs.
Men spend 137 minutes on TV, video and radio, which is more than women, who spend 118 minutes. The time for reading is almost the same for both, around 18-19 minutes. Men also do more sport, 15 minutes per day, compared to only 11 minutes for women.
Women spend much more time on cooking and washing, around 75 minutes, while men only 30. They also spend a little more time shopping and doing laundry. In contrast, men spend more time on repair work than women.
