It is also noticeable that females outweigh males in spending time on most housework while males put more time on relaxing than females do.
As the table shows, watching TV, video, and radio is the most popular entertainment activity among men and women as they spend around 137 and 118 minutes per day in this leisure field. By contrast, the total time that men and women spend on sports is just 26 minutes daily. In terms of reading, around 18 minutes were spent on this activity by men and 19 minutes by women.
Regarding to the bar chart, a large amount of time was spent on housework activities by females, except for repairing chores. To be more specific, nearly 80 daily minutes women spend on cooking and washing, while the figure for men is under half of that of women’s data. The average minutes spent on shopping, and clothes washing and ironing by females range from 30 to 35 minutes per day. By contrast, the figures for men are all under 30 minutes. However, on the repairing tasks, the time men spend on this duty outweighs women’s by nearly 10 minutes.
