Image for topic: Biofuel production: how ethanol is made. Write at least 150 words.

Our system will evaluate the answer based on this AI-generated description.

The image illustrates ethanol production from biofuel starting with energy (sunlight + carbon dioxide) aiding plant/tree growth; this is followed by harvesting, and pre-processing which releases carbon dioxide; processing involves breaking down cellulose into sugars; microbes are added to convert sugars into ethanol; ethanol is used as a fuel, releasing carbon dioxide again in the process.

Given the complexity of the image, the above description may not be entirely accurate.

The diadram illustrates the process involved in the production of ethanol.

It is clear that there are series of stages and the whole process returns to the begining.

The process starts when the plants and trees grows through the use of carbon dioxide. Once this stage is complete, harvesting stage is carried out, this plants and trees are harvested. After this, the harvest needs to pre-processed to make cellulose, which is followed by cellulose processing by chemical methods to get to sugars. At the next stage of the process, microbes also added to sugars, as a result, we get to ethanol. Finally, newly formed ethanols are delivered different cars and plans.Consequently, the car emits carbon dioxide

Task Response

The report covers all the key stages of the process described in the visual information, including the cyclical nature of the carbon dioxide cycle. The overview is clear and identifies the repetitive nature of the process. To improve, ensure better grammatical accuracy, particularly regarding subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'plants and trees grow' instead of 'grows') and the use of articles. Additionally, refining the sentence structures to avoid repetitive phrasing would enhance the overall flow and sophistication of the report. The report falls short of the required 150 words.

Coherence & Cohesion

The report follows a logical sequence, but the cohesion is weakened by repetitive sentence structures and improper use of punctuation. For example, comma splices (joining two independent sentences with only a comma) are present. To improve, use a wider variety of cohesive devices such as 'subsequently', 'following this', or 'after which' to link stages more smoothly. Additionally, ensure that each paragraph has a clear purpose; while you have an introduction and an overview, the body could be better organized into distinct stages of the process.

Lexical Resource

The vocabulary is functional but quite basic and repetitive (e.g., using 'process' and 'stage' frequently). There are also some word choice errors, such as 'delivered different cars and plans' which is unclear. To reach a higher band, aim for more precise technical verbs and nouns related to manufacturing and biology, such as 'conversion', 'transformation', 'extraction', or 'utilization'. Try to avoid repeating the same words by using synonyms.

Grammatical Range & Accuracy

There are several grammatical inaccuracies that affect the flow of the report. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'plants and trees grows'), missing articles (e.g., 'harvesting stage' instead of 'the harvesting stage'), and passive voice errors (e.g., 'microbes also added' instead of 'microbes are also added'). Work on mastering the passive voice, as it is the standard grammatical structure for describing processes. Additionally, pay close attention to singular and plural noun usage.
