The diagram illustrates the fly life cycle with different stages, from pupa to laying eggs and larva.
Overall, there are seven stages that can be selected on fly maturation phases and larva stages. The whole life cycle usually lasts from 2 to 4 weeks.
At the beginning we see pupa phase that lasts from 10 to 20 days. Then it becomes a young fly and after 20 days period it grows into a mature egg laying female. The time for these fisrt three stages is the longest comparing to the following ones. On the fourth stage a fly lays eggs, from which larvas emerge later. This phase lasts from 8 to 24 hours which is the shortest period for stages.
After this starts larva which rappidly grows into second stage larva. Eventually, lasting from 4 to 7 days, it becomes third larva stage which finishes the life cycle and starts everything over again.
