Overall, it is important to note that adult and children’s fiction books were more popular over the three years and their trend was increasing. However, the amount of sales of other categories decreased over the period.
According the graph, the interest of people in adult fiction reading, which were sold in greater amounts over the years from 1972 to 2012, increased. Furthermore, the percentage of buyers of these books shows an incredible increase from 20% to 49% in the three years.
Moreover, children’s fiction also showed a significant rise in sales from 20% to 25% in the given years.
The amount of sales of other kinds of bookseller (travel, biography, other books) shows a huge decline over the years (1972,1992, 2012). The diagram demonstrates that biography sales, the third highest at the beginning, were 20%; after that, in 1992, they were 15%. Nevertheless, the percentage reduced and reached 8% in 2012.
In contrast, the last category was travel; at the start it was 15%, in 1992 it hit a peak at 18%, and then declined to 10% in 2012.
