Overall, it is clear that there were four book turnovers such as biography, fiction, travel and others. Sale of fiction (adult and children’s) increased, while the sale of other types of books declined over the period.
Turning to the details, in 1972 the most significant figure was for other book sales at 25%, whereas adult fiction, children’s fiction and biography each accounted for 20%. The least was sale of travel book, which made up 15%.
Focusing on 1992, rate of other book revenue experienced slight decline, making up 20%, while adult fiction, children’s fiction as well as travel incresed, which constituted 25%, 22% and 18%, respectively. By contrast, biography dicreased marginally that represented 15%.
In 2012, other book purchases fallen noticeably, contributed to 12%. Travel and biography saw remarkable drop at 10% and 8%, respectively. As regards adult and children’s fiction, both experienced rapid growth, accounted for 45% and 25%, in thta order.
