Band 8+: During a recent plane journey, you sat next to a businessman who owns a chain of restaurants. You talked to him and he suggested that you should contact him about a possible job in one of his restaurants. Write a letter to this businessman. Dear Mr. Smith,

I am writing regarding a position at one of your establishments, which we have discussed on the flight last week.

If you would recall, we boarded the same airplane last Saturday, 11th October, at the Singapore airport, and we sat together on the flight to Brisbane. We had a great chat about the English Premier League, and we made a bet on who is going to win it this season.

You mentioned that you are in the food industry, as well as that you have a few openings available at your Italian restaurant in the Gold Coast. I would like to express an interest in a position of chef there, and let me assure you that I would be a great addition to your team.

I have ten years of experience cooking at various kitchens across the world. Not only can I prepare some of the tastiest pasta dishes but I am also very skilled in pizza making and in the preparation of traditional Milanese and Sicilian desserts. My family comes from Italy, where we owned a small cafe, serving some of the most flavoursome dishes. I am a hard working individual, and available to start as soon as possible.
