Dear Mr. John,

This is the last month of our six-month rental agreement for this apartment. In this letter, I want to request a two-month extension on our agreement.

My semester at the university was supposed to start at the end of next month and I planned to shift to the dormitory by then. However, due to the recent Coronavirus outbreak, the university has decided to move the first two months of this semester online. On the account of no in-person classes during this time, the dorms will not be available for residence. I am sorry to inconvenience you and would be extremely grateful if you can help me with a place to stay.

I would also like to point out a minor leakage problem in the apartment. The tap under the bathroom sink leaks water no matter how tightly it is closed. I suspect a piping issue. Given that water bill makes up a big portion of my rent, I find it crucial to bring this to you knowledge.
