The graph shows information about the number of people participating in different activities at a social centre in Melbourne, Australia, from 2000 to 2020.
Overall, participation in activities at the centre generally remained stable, but two activities showed a dramatic rise and a sharp fall. While the number of people in Amateur Dramatics decreased significantly, participation in Table Tennis reached the highest figures by the end of the period.
At the beginning of the period, the Film club had the highest number of participants, at around 65 people, and this figure remained relatively stable, staying between 60 and 70 over the 20 years. In contrast, the number of people taking part in amateur dramatics fell steadily from about 55 in 2000 to only around 25 in 2020. Musical performances also experienced a significant drop, decreasing from roughly 40 participants to almost zero by the end of the period.
Meanwhile, martial arts and table tennis showed clear upward trends. Martial arts grew slowly from around 25 participants in 2000 to about 30 in 2010, before rising sharply and reaching roughly 55 in 2020. Table tennis started lower, at about 10 participants, but increased steadily throughout the period, finishing at around 35 in 2020.
