International tourist arrivals from ten countries were examined, with data presented for 2012 and 2013. In France, the only country without tourist data in 2012, there was an increase of 1.8% from 2011 to 2012. However, 83 million tourists visited France in 2013, showing no change from 2012 to 2013. Despite this, France recorded the highest number of tourists among all countries.
In the USA and Spain, many tourists arrived in both 2012 and 2013. The number of tourists in the USA was high, ranging from 66.7 to 69.8 million, but the change was only 4.7% to 6.3%. Meanwhile, Spain had fewer tourists than the USA, with numbers around 57.7 to 60.7 million.
In China, the change from 2011 to 2012 was only 0.3%, and in the following year (2013), arrivals decreased by 3.5%. In Italy, tourist numbers were lower, around 46.4 to 47.7 million, but there was an increase from 2012 to 2013.
Turkey, Germany, and the UK had similar tourist numbers, ranging from 29 to 38 million. Tourist numbers rose each year in Turkey and Germany, while in the UK, they fell by 0.1% in 2012. Meanwhile, Russia and Thailand formed the lowest group, with tourist arrivals of only 22 to 28 million. However, both countries experienced significant changes from 2011 to 2013, with Thailand seeing a higher increase of 16.2% to 18.8% each year.
Overall, France had the highest number of international tourist arrivals, while Thailand had the lowest.
