London displayed a leadership in the sales of houses in both years, recording 523 in 2009, which surged to 1638 in 2014. New York came second, starting at 476 in 2009 but experiencing a significant increase to 796 in 2014. Similarly, the initial number of sold houses in Hong Kong was 388, while it witnessed a moderate rise in the following 5 years.
In 2009, Miami city sold 256 houses, whereas the number saw a moderate rise to 312 in 2014. Sydney and Los Angeles showed almost similar figures in 2009 – 151 and 178, respectively – but both regions saw an increase, reaching 258 and 214 by 2014. Although Dubai displayed the lowest number in both years, the figure went up from 12 to 46.
By contrast, Singapore was the only country that witnessed a decline in the number of houses sold for more than 5 million dollars, with the figure declined from 107 in 2009 to 74 in 2014.
