The table illustrates how many visits were made to six different countries (Canada, Austria, Finland, Irish Republic, Lithuania, and Spain) from four UK airports ( Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, and Stansted) in 2013. Overall, the vast majority of visits abroad were documented from the Gatwick and Manchester airports, while Heathrow had the lowest figure for total.
Spain was the most popular destination and witnessed the largest number of visits from the Gatwick airport with 1,896. Manchester airport also had the high figure with 1,715, while Stansted and Heathrow had the lower figures with 814 and 213 respectively. The visits to the Irish Republic were mainly made from Heathrow airport with 278. By contrast, Manchester had only 111, while the visits from Gatwick were 158 followed closely by Stansted with 187. In terms of visits to Austria, the number of visits from Gatwick were 148 compared to 86 for Heathrow and 66,44 for Manchester and Stansted respectively.
The largest number of visits to Finland were made from Heathrow and Manchester, with 58 and 53 respectively, while Gatwick had the lower figure with 25 and Stansted had the lower one with only 8. The Manchester airport had only 50 visits to Canada. In comparison, the Gatwick had twice as less compared to Heathrow, 91 as opposed to 187, with no data available for Stansted. Lithuania was the least popular destination, Stansted had twice as many visits compared to Gatwick (33 as opposed to 15, unlike Heathrow with only 1, with no data available for Manchester.
