The pie charts illustrate the percentage of electricity production by fuel source in France in 1990 and 2010
Overall, there was noticeable transition in France”s electricity production over two decades characterized by rise in nuclear power and a sharp decline in the supply of other sources, particularly coal and natural gas.
Natural gas and coal were, leaders of electricity production in 1990,they also had equal percentages, just under a third.Whereas oil held the second place contributing just over a fifth of total electricity yield. At the same time hydro power comes last with a small number of production.
In 2010, nuclear power generation grew to over half of graphic and become the most successful among all sources. While coal and oil had the same supply percentage and it is less than a fifth, but besides this, they were the second leading fuel sources. However natural gas had an unexpected transformation after 1990,and as a result, it ended up at the bottom of the list of fuel sources
