According to the first chart, the number of online individuals increased gradually from 26 million in 2005 to roughly 195 million in 2009. This quantity then surged up to 451 million in 2010. From 2010 to 2012, it grew considerably to 580 million and peaked at the end of the period.
Regarding the second chart, USA and Canada accounted for 53%, becoming the leading category. The percentage of internet users in Europe accounted for 24%. Respectively, the proportion in Asia and South America were 15% and 6%. In addition, Middle East and Africa were only 1%.
