In contrast the latter demonstrates the proportion of citizens, who has access to online means, across 6 different countries.
Overall, onccuring trends signify a surge of users, as time elapsed through the years. Initially, during 2005, users where at its lowest, having around 26 million world wide. Through the next years however, the people who has online access steadily increase, reaching over 200 million between 2009 and 2010. The population of the internet surge through 2010 onwards, typically having 500 million in the year 2010,2011, and 2012.
Additionally, majority of people who use the internet are from the west, with the minority from the Middle East. People from North America has over 53% of the world’s internet users, and is followed by Europe and Asia, having percentages of 24% and 15% respectively. Meanwhile continents who have lower usage rates, specifically, South America and the Middle East, has numbers reaching 6% and 1% respectfully. Lastly 1% of the population are unknown.
