The diagrams below give information about how cement is made and the way it is used to make concrete for building. The process include several steps and equipments that are used in industry to produce those materials.
Overall, cement production is more complex and have more stages than making concrete. It use heat, machines and chemical process, while concrete is make by mixing simple materials together in a mixer.
First, limestone and clay are put into a crusher to be crushed into powder. Then, this powder go to a mixer where it is mixed. After that, the mixture are sent into a rotating heater. While rotating, it is heated. The next stage is grinding – the hot mixture is passed through a grinder and become cement. Finally, the cement are packed into bags for used.
n term of concrete, four materials are used. Cement make up 15%, water is 10%, sand is 25% and gravel, which is small stones, is 50%. All of them put into a concrete mixer and the machine rotate to mix all ingredients together. Then it become concrete which can be used in construction.
