The line chart given illustrates the proportion of exported goods in Australia to four distinct nations, namely, Japan, the US, China, and India over a period of 12 years, from 1990 onwards.
From an overall perspective, it is evident that the percentage of Australian output in Japan and America showed a downward trend, whereas a reverse pattern could be seen in the remaining categories during the surveyed period.
In 1990, the proportion of Australian exports in Japan was highest, at roughly 27%. This was followed by the lower data on the US, at nearly 12%. Both China and India, however, accounted for the lowest values, which were under 10%.
In the period between 1990 and 2012, the percentage of imported goods from Australia to Japan decreased to below 20%. In the same trajectory, before the USA witnessed a decline of approximately 5%, it rose to over 10% in 1999. Meanwhile, the figure for China surged to reach a peak of nearly 30% in the final year. Similarly, India noticeably rose to nearly 10%, however, it then dropped to somewhere in the vicinity of 4% at the end of the period.
