The given pie charts illustrate the actual proportions of energy capacity in gigawatts in 2015 along with expectations for 2040.

It can be generally said that fossil fuels made up for the majority of energy capacity in 2015,while it was predicted that fossil fuels’ capacity will drop by 20% by 2040.It is also expected that total energy capacity in 2040 will increase by almost double compared to 2015.

Fossil fuels accounted for 64% of all energy capacity in 2015, while it is expected that it will fall by 20% in 2040.Other renewables made up for 23% in 2015,and it is anticipated to maintain a stable level of 21%.Nuclear energy made up for only 6%,and wind energy constituted to 5%.The smallest proportion for energy capacity was solar energy,which accounted for only 2%.On the contrary,it is expected that solar energies’ contribution will rise by 10% up to 12%.Moreover,it can be seen that proportions of all fields of energy capacity are envisioned to be more even.The total energy capacity in gigawatts was 6.688,while this number is expected to grow to 11.678 by 2040
