The maps illustrate changes in Felixstone in the UK between 1967 and 2001.
Overall, the area underwent a number of dramatic changes, the most important of which are the expansion of entertainment areas and the development of the car park.
In the Northwest, while the golf course and a row of shops remained unchanged throughout the period, another chain of stores was replaced by apartments. There used to be farmland in the Northeast, but it was removed to make way for entertainment areas, with a swimming pool, a hotel, and two tennis courts to serve customers.
In the Southwest, the wooded area remained unchanged, and the dunes were equipped with wind turbines. The South of the map saw some changes, with the hotel being upgraded with a car park and the cafe being relocated downwards. Finally, the fish market, marina, and pier were removed to make way for a private beach and a public beach to serve different purposes.
