The bar charts illustrate the proportion of influencers’ following on Instagram from 2018 to 2021, by million accounts. Overall, it is evident that Selena Gomez showed the highest following accounts in 2018; however, in 2021, Cristiano Ronaldo had a dramatic surge, with having the greatest proportion of account followers.

From a broader perspective, in 2018, there were relatively similar numbers for Kylie Jenner, The Rock, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Ariana Grande, which ranged from 80 to 120 million account followers. In contrast, Selena Gomez reported the highest number of account followers, reaching 130 million accounts.

Another significant feature is the number of celebrities following accounts on Instagram in 2021. There was a significant increase across all particular influencers. The Rock, Ariana Grande, and Kylie Jenner reported relatively similar numbers of following accounts, accounting for 250 million accounts. Conversely, Selena Gomez had slightly fewer followers than these three celebrities. Furthermore, Cristiano Ronaldo showed the greatest numbers, surpassing others, peaking at over 300 million account followers.

In conclusion, over the 3-year period, followers were continuously following celebrities on Instagram, Cristiano Ronaldo was outnumbered others. Meanwhile, the others had relatively similar proportions.
