The graph shows the number of jobs in four sectors of the economy in the US, measured in millions, in US over a forty-year period.

Overall, what stands out from the graph is that there were upward trends in the figure of jobs related to healthcare and retail, while the number of manufacturing and agriculture’s job saw a considerable fall over the period.

In comparison, there was a substantial increase the number of jobs both retail and healthcare sector, and they both of them overtook the Manufacturing sector. By the end of the period, they had almost the same job numbers about 16 million in 2020.

By contrast, the Manufacturing sector stared with the highest number of jobs. Despite the highest number, there was a dramatic decline in the figure of jobs between 1980 and 2020, whereas there was a gradually period in agriculture sector between 1980 and 2000. After this gradually period, the number of jobs in agriculture sector saw a negligible decrease.
