Overall, watching television was the highest and generally increased over the years.while other leisure activities such as watching DVDS and going shopping rises up and down.
Looking the details, it is obvious that there was a significant increase in the youngsters engaged in watching TV, rising up 25% in 2002 to 38% in 2007. Similarly, going to pubs and shopping also followed an upward trajectory. In 2007, the time young adults spent discos and shopping almost tripled than it was in 2007.
In contrast four activities showed a downward trend.Although there was a slightly move upward around 18% in young adults spending their time watching DVDS in 2004 and 2005.It fell to 10% in 2007.Interestingly bowling remained least favorable option with just 4% of teenagers involved in it in 2002 and only 1% taking part in 2007.
To sum up, the youth in Chester investing their free time at home by enjoying TV programs and going out with friends to the pubs and shopping.On the other hand, activities such as bowling, doing homework and sports were less favored with bowling being the least popular based on the survey.
