This graph illustrates the number of foreign students undertaking different programs for tertiary education in Canada in the years 2010 and 2020.
Overall, there was limited variation in the number of students undertaking university courses between 2010 and 2020, despite a marginal increase favoring 2020 throughout each program. Undergraduate courses remained the most popular throughout the decade.
In 2010, over 10,000 students were enrolled in undergraduate programs, the highest number out of the available courses. In contrast, research was the most underutilized with about 4500 students enrolled, almost half that of undergraduate. Postgraduate and Language were the second and third most popular choices, selected by 8250 and 7000 respectively.
By 2020, each program had increased its occupancy, illustrated most clearly by research and language having the largest increase with 700 and 500 more students, respectively.
