The bar chart depicts how many males and females are attending a variety of courses in 2009, including drama, painting, sculpture and language. The pie chart illustrates the different age groups of the people. Overall, the painting and language courses were more popular than the drama and sculpture classes; the pie chart highlighted that nearly half of the attendees were above the age of 49.
At 60 participants, the language course had the highest attendance rates. Painting classes followed closely behind at 55, however drama and sculpture proved to be the unpopular option at 30 and 15 attendees respectfully. The women outnumbered the men in every course except sculpture, where there were 5 more males than females.
The pie chart made it clear that class attendance were mainly middle-aged, as the age ranges 40-49 and 50 and over made up 68% of the participants. The remaining one-third of the participants were relatively younger, with age ranges 0-19 (5%), 20-29 (11%) and 30-39 (16%).
