The graph compares how much food was produced with the number of citizens in six nations in the year 2002.
Overall, the amount of food produced was higher than the number of people in China, India and Indonesia, while an opposite trend was seen in the remaining countries. In addition, it is clearly seen that China had not only the highest production of food but also the largest population in the year examined.
Regarding population, the number of Chinese people was 1287.6 million people, compared to 1049.5 million Indian people. Meanwhile, the figures for America and Indonesia were similar, at 287.4 and 217 million respectively. The number of citizens in Vietnam and France were much lower, with respective figures been seen at 79.7 and 59.5 million.
Turning to food production, 401.8 million tons of food were produced in China, doubling that of India (222.8 million tons). It was also 100 million tons more than that of America. By contrast, the figures for France and Indonesia were almost the same at 69.1 and 57.9 million tons, while only 36.7 million tons of food were manufactured in Vietnam in this year.
