The charts present the purpose why people in UK travelled by airplane in four distinct airports along 2016, categorized by three major purposes such as visiting relatives, business, holiday or other activities.
In 2016, around a half of Passengers in Luton and Stansted Airport were those who wanted to visit their relatives accounted to 50% and 48% respectively, closely followed by holiday at nearly over one-third, . Conversely, in Gatwick Airport large proportion were mostly for holiday purpose at 54% and exact one-third for visiting relatives. Whereas small minority passengers were there for business purpose and only 2% for others
On the other hand, in Heathrow airport demonstrate a different portion, the three categorizes had not shown a different proportion as in general, they were around one-third as visiting relatives became the major purpose and others were the least.
In conclusion, it is evident that many people chose airplane to have holiday or visiting friends/family, and small number passengers were found to travel for business, while minority did for other purposes.
