In 2015, just more than a quarter of passenger cars (25%) were produced in Greater China, which was the highest number of cars manufactured over the period, just ahead of Europe at precisely 25%. Moreover, the contribution of North America passenger was considerably more than South America at approximately 17% and 4%, respectively.
In contrast, Middle East and Africa produced roughly 3% of passenger cars in 2015 (which the lowest percentage of passenger over the whole year). Furthermore, the percentage of passenger car manufacturing in Japan and Korea was roughly twice as that of South Asia at nearly 16% and 8%, respectively.
