The bar chart illustrates the expectations of teenagers in Europe regarding changes in five different areas over the next two decades.
Looking from an overall perspective,it is readily apparent that young Europeans are generally more optimistic about improvements in communication between people, while they hold the most pessimistic opinions about ecological aspects, such as air quality.
Regarding the communication, more than half teenagers believe it will improve, which is the highest proportion across all categories, and only 40% expect it to deteriorate.A similar level of optimism is shown in health and food quality, where approximately half predict improvement. However, the percentage expecting a decline in these two areas is still significant, at around 50% for health and slightly higher for food quality.
By contrast, environmental elements receive the lowest percentage points in the picture.Air quality is viewed the most pessimistically, with about 70% will decline while more than quarter of young people believe its improvement.Water quality also collected the worst figure, though to a lesser degree, with roguhly 55% and less than half of they believe its improvement.
