The bar chart demonstrates the number of purchases, measured in million units, of three technological devices including laptops, tablets, and smartphones in the first quarter of 2019, which spans a period of four months.
Overall, the number of tablet and smartphone purchases followed a similar trend, both increasing during February and March. However, the opposite was true for laptops.
As can be seen from the graph, tablet and smartphone sales continued to rise as the year progressed, although at different rates. At the beginning of the year, more tablets were sold than smartphones, with over 30 million units compared to less than 20 million units, but still behind laptops. However, tablet sales surged to around 62 million units in February and remained at this level until March, while smartphone sales reached a peak of 73 million units. In April, both sectors saw a dip, with tablet sales dropping to their lowest level and smartphone sales returning to their February levels.
On to the remaining statistics, laptop purchases experienced a different trend. They started the year at the top of the list, with approximately 49 million units sold, then declined to 23 million units two months later. However, in April, they surged to 52 million units and regained the top position.
