The presented bar chart illustrates the percentage of adult male smokers in seven countries along with the world average, namely World, Armenia, Egypt, Lebanon, Bangladesh, Cuba, Mexico, and Australia in years 2000 and 2015.
Overall, it is evident that Armenia recorded the largest, whereas Australia had the smallest, in 2000. However, in 2015, Armenia and Cuba represented the highest, while Australia showed the lowest.
In terms of male smokers in 2000, Armenia reported the largest share, at 65%, clearly exceeding Bangladesh and Cuba, which stood at 62% and 53%, respectively. Meanwhile, there was little variation among World and Australia, ranging from almost 30% to 43%. However, the figures for Egypt, Lebanon and Mexico were relatively similar, with figures ranging between 35% and 36%.
Regarding male smokers in 2015, Armenia and Cuba represented the highest number, at 52% each, followed by Egypt and Lebanon, standing at almost 50% and 45%, respectively. In comparison, the figure for World stood at 32%. However, Mexico accounted for 20% and Australia was reported at 15%.
