The chart compares the proportion of people’s daily consumption of five servings of fruits and vegetables in the UK between 2001 and 2008. Overall, men and children remained stable in initial years, while females were experiencing steady rise. Later males and children also rose, but non-of them changed their categories.
With their much more higher intake women were in dominant category, and despite decreasing in last 2 years they remained their class. Except for 2007 and 2008 figure rose steadily and peaked in 2006, accounting for 35% of all consumption.
Between 2001 and 2003 both children and men did not experience any rise or fall, men stayed with just under 20% and, children with their trough proportion just over 10%. From 2004 onwards, they also saw rising trends and between 2006 and 2007 men did not see changes, so, children almost reached pairity with them. However, in 2008 figures decreased, men stayed just above 25%, but children drooped just under 25%.
