Overall, all the countries decided to increase their renewable share prefering a carbon free electrical energy production. In both years Brazil led the countries maintaining the lion’s share of renewables. In stark contrast to Brazil, India remained the country with the lowest share of renewables although their segment increased during the period. On the other hand, Germany has been the country with largest increase during the period having more than triplicated its share.
Brazil continued its increase from 40% in 2000 reaching by 2020 roughly 55%. Germany and USA shares had a significant growth from approximately 10%, to 35 and 25 percent respectively. Germany share increased of 25 percent during the years.
China and India despite being the countries with the lowest portion have more than triplicated their segment. Both countries had about 5 percent in 2000 and reached 20 and 15 percent respectively by 2020.
