The presented bar graph illustrates the changes in the share of electricity produced from renewable souces over 20 years, from 2000 to the 2020, over five different countries around the world.
What is evident from such bar graph is that all countries outlined have experienced a rise in the perecnt of electricity generated from renewavle resources, albeit at widely different rates. In 2000, Brazil had the highest share, which stood at 40%. This percentage is higher significantly higher than all other countries, both in the year 2000 and 2020. Moreover, Brazil’s share has risen to more than the 50% in 2020, making it the only listed country where renewable energy forms the majority of the type of electricity produced. However, if we look at the rate of transformation, we can see that China and India have both had a significant jump. Both countries started at less or around 5%, rising to four times their previous percentage by 2020.
Germany and the USA have also had a notable increase in the percentage of electricty from renewable sources, with both countries starting at or around 10%, rising to about three times their percentage in the year 2000.
