Overall, every country experienced a significant rise in the share of renewable electicity over the two decades. Brazil consistently had the highest proportion in both years, while India had the smallest share in 2000, though it still showed noticeable growth by 2020.
To begin with, in 2000, Brazil’s figure stood at approximately 40%, considerably higher than that of the other countries. By 2020, this result increased to around 55%. Germany followed a similar upward hend, with renewable energy rising from about 10%to 35%, making one of the largest soar in group.
The USA and China also improved substantially. The USA’s renewable electricity share rose from roughly 8% in 2000 to 25% in 2020, while China’s grew from around 5%to 20% during the same period. India, starting at only 3% in 2000, escalated about 15% by 2020, showing the smallest result.
In summary, renewable energy use expanded in all five countries between 2000 and 2020, with Brazil and Germany achieving the highest shares, while India, despite strong growth, stayed the lowest.
