The bar chart compares student participation in different kinds of sports between 2010 and 2020. Overall, there was a shift in people’s spending on sports. Football and Basketball were significant expenses, with their importance growing further in 2020. On other hand, the time people spent on other sports ,which accounted for a relatively small proportion, decreased by 2020.
In 2010, student’s time spent on sports was distributed as follows: Football accounted for the largest share, representing 55% of their time spent on sports. Basketball followed closely behind with 40%. Notably, there was a small difference of big 10 percentage points between spending on tennis (25%) and swimming (35%).
By 2020, the proportions in the mix had changed noticeably. The percentage disparity between the two top sports narrowed, with the proportion of time people spent on tennis increasing to 35% and that of swimming rising to 40%. By the end, the percentage for two sports had decreased, with football at 45% and basketball at 35%.
