Looking from all perspectives, it is crystally clear that the percentage of participation in football and basketball underwent general declines, whereas tennis and swimming trended upwards. Notably, the figure for football ranked first throughout the year.
Looking first at the sports that decreased, football emerged as a clear leader in 2010, at nearly 56%-the largest share in question. In the period of next 10 years, the results show that the proportion of participants in football went down moderately to approximately 47%, however, ending the period at the highest rank. Basketball, too, experienced a drop, yet, in a different manner. Starting at about 43%, it went down to just above 36% and ranked third in 2020.
Turning to the increases, tennis started its period at slightly more than 25%, which was an all-time low . The proportion of … rose modestly to about 32%. Nevertheless, it ended the period at the lowest rank. Similarly, swimming also showed an increase. In 2010, at around 35% of attendees, the figure climbed up to approximately 38 percent by the end of the period and ranked second.
