Overall, it is clear that girls tend to prefer indoor activities, whereas boys are more interested in outdoor ones. Sports and going to the park are more popular among boys, while girls show a stronger preference for arts and crafts.
In detail, the proportion of girls who are interested in arts and crafts is about five times higher than that of boys, at roughly 25% and 5%, respectively. Reading books is also more popular among girls (18%), while the rate of playing computer games is the same for both genders. Watching DVDs is slightly more common among girls than boys.
Regarding the activities dominated by boys (sports and going to the park), there is a significant gap between the two genders. Nearly 30% of boys participate in sports, compared to only 13% of girls. Going to the park ranks second among boys at around 25%, whereas just over 10% of girls take part in this activity.
