The bar chart illustrates the percentage of household spending on housing, healthcare, food and transportation in the UK, Australia and Japan in the year 2013.
Overall, both the British and the Japanese spent most of their money on housing compared to healthcare in Australia. While the least expenditure was on food in Australia and Japan, this figure for the UK was on healthcare.
In terms of housing, Japan spent the most at about 27%. The expenditure of the UK was also high ( nearly 26%) compared to Australia which spent the least ( approximately 23%). Similarly, Japan spent more money on transportation ( about 22%) than the UK and Australia ( around 20% and 15% respectively).
With regards to healtcare, the highest expenditure was in Australia, which accounted for about a quarter of their total spending. While Japan spent 22% of their money on this, the expenditure in the UK was much more lower (about 8%). In the UK, one-fifth of total spending was on food, which made up about 16% and 12% in Japan and Australia respectively.
