Overall, Most of the population of London preferred flats over the other types of houses while least preference was given to the detached houses. People of Cambridge city preferred to live in detached houses mostly.
In London, approximately 60% of London people preferred flats had the highest preference rate of almost 60% in 2005 by London residents whereas the detached houses recorded the least percentage of approximately 10%.Moreover,terraced and semi-detached houses preferred proportion was around 15% and 18% respectively. By contrast, around 25% to 30% of Oxford residents preferred flats, detached and semi-detached houses.
Almost 30% to 40% of Cambridge population liked to live in detached houses whereas around 20% of population preferred to reside in flats and terraced houses.
