Overall, throughout the years, all of the types of novels’s purchases slightly decreased except romance books, which sold the most for readers among other types of books. On the other hand, sci-fi and fantasy books had been purchased at the lowest, but in the year 2010, classic books took the place.
The romantic novels had the highest sales during the five years. From 2006 to 2007, its sales significantly grew from over $80,000 to below $120’000; however, in 2008, it suddenly decreased and reached about $70,000. After this, the trend continued to grow. For mystery books, it had the same trend as romance, which greatly increased in 2007, and was above $80,000. But in 2009, the sales of mystery novels experienced a slight fall, which was approximately $50,000.
In addition, young adult book’s purchasing steadily in the same earnings; however, in 2008, it slightly decreased into 20’000$..For classic, its sales fluctuated throughout the years.In the last year of 2010, its profit peaked at about 10’000$, which was the lowest earnings among other category of books. Ultimately, sci-fi and fantasy book’s profit was always below the 20’000$.
