The chart below shares details about computer ownership in the U.S. over the period from 1997 to 2012.
As shown in the chart, the proportion of computers who owned one or more than 3 computers had the highest percentage, while people who bought two or no computers experienced a decline in their ownership.
To begin with, computer owners who had only one computer had the highest percentage, starting at around 27% in the earlier years, and went up significantly to 50% by 2003, despite fluctuating slowly to 45% until 2006, the proportion of one computer users steadily increased again to 50% in the final years. Similarly, no computer holders began with its highest percentage, making up 67% in 1997, but, it confronted a fall to 67% and finishing at 19% in the final years.
Moving on to the remainders, persons who had two to three or more laptops, both began with around 5% and 1%, then went up noticeably, stood at 12% as well as 8% between 2003 and 2006. While, there was a rise for one computer proprietors, accounted for 22% in the former years. Furthermore, three or more laptop users remained a constant trend, over a three-year period at the end.
