The chart provides information about people in Europe of four different age brackets who hit the gym one time in a month or more from 1990 to 2010.
Overall, a consistent increase was seen in all age groups, with dramatic rise in the figure for 18-24 year-old. However, the share of people belonging to 45 year-old and over experienced the lowest rate throughout the period.
In 1990, two age brackets 18-24 and 25-34 showed the similar 10% respectively. In 2002 , 18-24 age range reached 40% , while 25-34 year-old resulted 38%. In the final year, 18-24 age group recovered after a noticeable decline and reached 60%, whereas second age group peaked at 50%.
At the beginning , middle-aged and 45year-old residents and over had almost equal share with 5%. After 12 years, there was seen an increase in people falling into 35 and 44, reached up to 20 % and, at the end,this percentage went up to 40%. 45 and over age range experienced 10% in the middle and ended up with just 20%.
